It’s goodbye data if a fat finger makes a Typo: Human error is a company’ worse Foe

Raid Data Recovery
One out of every five errors, the culprit is human error says tech provider Data barracks. The study, based on information from the fifth annual Data Check Report, found 18 percent voting said employee data idiocy was the third most popular reason why company data disappeared and went missing. Nineteen percent said software failure was to blame for lost data. Corruption and theft weren’t as big of causes to lose data, participants said, 15 and 7 percent respectively.

What is the best way to store data so that a fat finger cannot easily erase all data saved with a single mistyped keystroke?  Though SSD drives may be cheaper to perform Mac recovery with, they still can be problematic. Unlike a spinning disk drive, SSD hard drives have no spinning parts. Without having a disk, it also means these hard drives are going to be more difficult to be able to obtain the backup data in order to perform SD card data recovery and other types of recovery.

Why a spinning drive beats a solid One?

There is a set of standards with a spinning drive. However, this isn’t always true or a solid state drive. Did you know that drives may be different from each other? Solid state drives may contain different structures within the same drive and also different technology. This is why a pro must handle data and perform Raid server data recovery and even Mac recovery. However, for some smaller organisations may not be able to pay £299 an incident. What is surprising about data loss for some businesses is that it is not small businesses that are having repeat instances of data loss. Larger businesses are having trouble protecting their data and have paid reported fines for repeat data losses.

Why is this a surprise? There are 18 percent of smaller businesses which claim they cannot afford to have a Raid system or backup their data because of cost. However, without having data backed up, the cost for Raid server data recovery, SD card data recovery, or Mac recovery may not be affordable for smaller businesses. However, there are also other things that stand in the way of small businesses having data plans and systems in place to protect sensitive data. There were 18 percent of small business owners who admitted not having the technical skills to protect their data. Another 35 percent admitted having systems, but not testing because of time concerns. How can businesses large and small protect data or avoid repeat fines if data loss prevention isn’t a priority in the UK?

Whether businesses lose data because of a fat finger or simply not having a business continuity plan, why does it matter how a company loses data? Isn’t any data loss tragic for companies who are trusted by UK residents to keep their personal data safe?  Do you think the UK is better protected than most other countries against cyber-attacks and business delays from data loss?  At Manchester Data Recovery, we can recover your lost photos, files, and music files. We can also fix your Raid system errors

Use Caution When Accessing Public Wi-Fi

Memory Card Recovery
Public Wi-Fi networks allow you to access the internet in public places. These include tourist spots, restaurants, hospitals and other places.

They are important and convenient. You may need to access Wi-Fi for an emergency or just to check your email. But you should be cautious when accessing public Wi-Fi. Here are some reasons why.

High Security Risks

Public Wi-Fi networks have little, if any, security measures in place. This means they are the perfect hunting grounds for hackers. This is not a rare occurrence. It happens often.

The extent of the damage that can be done depends on what type of device you use. If you are on a laptop, it is possible to download something that you think is legitimate, but isn't. If you do, you could wind up with a virus that can damage your system and your hard drive.

The risk can be just as great for a cell phone or a tablet. You can damage your SD card, making it impossible to retrieve data from it. You will probably need SD card data recovery services to salvage it.

Rogue Networks

These are networks that you think are legitimate. They are labelled with names that are similar to the area you are in. If you are sitting in a hospital, the network may say "St. James Hospital Wi-Fi."

You can connect to these networks without the use of a password. Once you connect to a rogue network, a hacker can use software to access your system. They can even access memory cards. This can result in damage and extra fees for memory card recovery services.

Be Prepared

If you absolutely have to access public Wi-Fi, be prepared. The first thing you need to do is protect your device. Download a virus scan or a similar program. These can block potentially hazardous software, or at least alert you to them.

To be safe, only login to a Wi-Fi network that needs a username and password. Don't take chances. If you see two public networks available, such as "St. John's Hospital" and "St. John's Hospital 1," don't use either of them. Ask an employee which one is theirs. Get the login information, and use that to access the network.

Repairing Your Hard Drive: DIY vs. Professionals

SD Card Data Recovery
When your hard drive fails, you may be tempted to fix it yourself instead of taking it to a professional. If it’s a simple problem, then fixing it yourself will save you time and money. So you get online, research the symptoms and find endless advice about how to fix your problem.

Before you roll up your sleeves and dive in, there are a few things you should know. Some DIY methods are only temporary. There is no guarantee that the method you tried is a permanent fix to your problem. That can cause a lot more problems later on.

Some methods can make your problem worse. If you continue using them, you can wind up destroying your hard drive. Your computer won’t be able to boot up. You will have to spend more money than you’re comfortable with just to fix a problem that could have been solved by professionals.
How do you identify when you need a professional or when you can fix something yourself? Let’s take a look at some examples.

When You Can Do It Yourself

It is only advisable to try to fix an internal problem with your computer if you know what you’re doing. If you have never opened up a computer, or don’t know the insides of it, take it to the professionals.

If your external hard drive is acting up, check the connections first. It could be as simple as a cable is loose. First, turn off your computer. Then make sure the cables are plugged in firmly. When you turn it on everything should be working fine.

If that didn’t work, check to see if the computer recognizes your hard drive. If it doesn’t, there is likely some type of internal damage that is preventing it from being recognised. This is a problem that should be fixed by professionals.

When to Take It to the Professionals

If at any point your hard drive starts making any type of alarming noise, you should have professionals look at it. Likewise, if you cannot determine what the problem is, you should take it in to see a professional.

You may cringe thinking about how much money it’s going to cost to fix it. Stop and weigh the costs carefully. Is it cheaper to take it to a professional than to buy a new computer?

If you are on a budget, find a company that specializes in external hard drive repair. The company shouldn’t charge you a lot of money to diagnose your computer. They should only charge you a full fee if they can fix your problem.

Pick a company that has a long record of recovering data and satisfied customers. The company should also specialise in data recovery, such as retrieving data from SD card. They should be able to pull files off of your hard drive even if it’s damaged.
