Raid 6 on life support until 2019: Why this Raid system is slowly being phased out

For now, many businesses are using Raid 6. But, Raid 6 may be not recommended after 2019.  This news may not come as a surprise since Raid 5 is no longer being supported by vendors and was stopped being made in 2009. Why are makers of Raid 6 systems planning to stop making them in 2019? Here are the reasons why Raid 6 may not be as useful as some UK businesses think this Raid system is and no Raid system is perfect. • Raid 6 tackles the problem of not being able to operate with two failed drivers. The reason why Raid 6 can still operate is that it has enough parity to handle both driver failures. Still, most Raid arrays cannot go top speed overall when rebuilding, so rebuild times are two to five times this.
• Some business owners think a drive failure is a one-time instance. But usually if a drive fails, another failure is not far away.
