Why UK companies may need to safeguard data gained from Social Media

Server Data Recovery
It used to be companies who used servers to store data needed a great deal of space to save information about customers’ buying patterns, etc. However, anymore companies do not need large servers with unlimited space to save what they need. While there is no guarantee a company won’t need server data recovery if the weather threatens a storage solution, many companies have a data recovery plan that includes storing data gained through social media efforts, off-site.

Why are social media and programs such as Google Analytics important? Did you know that more than 751 million mobile users access Facebook each month? Another 200 million Twitter users send 400 million tweets a day. How is important is it for a company to have external hard disk recovery in the UK? The information gained from these lists of shoppers may be vital for many companies to keep their products and also their brand or company “image,” fresh.

Using gleamed data effectively

Did you know that only 12 percent of business heads reported their companies were using data gleaned from Facebook, Twitter, FourSquare, Flickr, or Instagram correctly? Why even gleam data from customers and analyse it using Google Analytics? Did you know the benefit from such data isn’t only the fact companies can find how customers feel about a specific brand. They also can pinpoint ways that monitoring this information may be used to their benefit. For example, one university student is monitoring Twitter tweets in order to spot the spread of the Ebola virus before it has multiplied many times.

This data is important enough that companies will pay a professional to perform hard drive data recovery in the UK if this mined data is lost or stored data develops a bad sector. While many companies have updated their storage and managing processes, many companies may not realise it is no longer necessary to store such large volumes of data. Today, companies need to be looking at different options if they wish to use social media and the data gained from social analytics.

Here are a few areas companies may need to update their procedures and update their disaster plans before they need server data recovery.

  • Consider data compression and tighter data samples. It is wise to have use data compression to keep sensitive data.  This means a company can store more data without needing as much space. Tighter data samples ensure that the accuracy of data surveys and query results has better results, with greater accuracy.
  • Social media has allowed companies to communicate in real time with customers. But, is it better helping companies, by allowing real-time responses to customers’ problems and concerns? Is instant messaging creating the Twitter crisis and need for PR damage in some cases? Speed in this case may not be a good thing.
  • Monitoring social media has made it possible for companies to have a great scope and insight into not only what customers want, but what they need. By analysing, data gained from social media can be invaluable. However, this is only true if server data recovery or an external hard drive data recovery isn’t needed.
